What is it that's so appealing about science and auto-tune mashups? Could it be the inherent fashion-sensibilities of the global science community? (Deep down, you just know that skivvies and elbow patches are cool.) Could it be the eyeball popping special-effects that seem to accompany most lessons on matters of quantum? (Science lessons and acid-house, rave parties might actually have more in common than you think.) Or could it be the melodic appeal of words like sub-atomic?

Science and innovation are well known as the best of bedfellows. Science and rap... not so much. In the same spirit that we have enjoyed posting musical tributes to social media nerds, new dork entrepreneurs and Carl Sagan (who deserves a category of his own), we bring you this Epic Rap Battle between Albert 'MC-squared' Einstein and Stephen 'Auto-Tune' Hawking. Your minds will be 'relatively blown'!

This funny (and strangely catchy) mashup of television footage from Carl Sagan's Cosmos and Stephen Hawking's Universe series (with the aid of some masterfully applied Auto-Tune singing technology) was created as a musical tribute to honour the two great men of science. It also begs the question, 'Why can't science be cool?' (Or so uncool that it becomes cool... like Sagan's skivvy.)
