It’s Tuesday. So far, I’ve been awake for 17 hours.
Why? Good question. I’m so glad you asked.
I’m not a natural morning person yet, I run monthly breakfast events for digital types. To run the events, I have to get up not long after I go to sleep.
So, on these days, my sleep pattern ends up completely out of kilter. It takes a few days to recover. My brain turns to mush. Words often escape me.
In this TEDWomen video, Ariana Huffington, she of the Huffington Post fame, explains the need for sleep.
So far today, I’ve not passed out from fatigue and cracked my cheek as she did.
But, I do know I can’t keep up the limited sleep routine for too long. If I do, my ideas start to disappear. I lose momentum and lack creativity.
Heed Huffington’s advice, Anthillians. Get more sleep!
