We are a small handmade ice cream outlet in Wodonga. Last year I ran a Facebook campaign to attract passing traffic from Sydney and Melbourne. It was possible to display ads to selected users - so I put in those living in Melbourne and Sydney only. Since this was quite a large population, and I only wanted to target those travelling between the two cities my outcome was not quite that good.
While the features are there I think the display ads (which cost money) are not as good as creating a fanclub or group (which is FREE). Fan club has also the ability to send messages to members and run discussion group so it is even better...!

Perhaps there is something that can be gleaned from your efforts. What exactly did your campaign consist of?
