Jack co-founded MBE Education, a business which utilises the expertise of the leading entrepreneurs and firms in Australia to educate entrepreneurs on capital raising, growth and exit strategies. Under Jack’s leadership, MBE experienced growth of more than 500% in 2009, with revenues north of $1M.

As a result his company was listed in the SmartCompany Fast 50 – the fastest growing 50 start-ups in Australia. As General Manager of MBE, Jack built a team of 6 staff and 25 corporate advisors who consult to clients on corporate transactions between $1m and $20m. Currently the team of advisors are executing $250m in capital raisings and corporate advisory transactions on behalf of clients.

In 2009 Jack was named as a Finalist for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards.

Jack has become an international media spokesperson for young entrepreneurs and has been interviewed on national television and radio shows including WIN Television and ABC Radio. Jack has also been consulted as a Gen Y business expert by over 15 newspapers.

James Tuckerman

Over the past six years, James Tuckerman has built one of Australia’s leading media brands for the SME business segment (Anthill Magazine), an event company (Anthill Events) and one of Australia’s Top 50 Business & Finance websites (Anthill Online).

During this time, he has grown teams, re-engineered business models, implemented marketing and sales campaigns (through B2B, retail, digital and DM channels), streamlined operational practices in a logistically complex industry, raised private equity and built an entirely new market segment.

Trained in Law at the University of Melbourne (BA / LLB), he commenced his career as a public relations consultant, where he specialized in corporate finance and investor relations projects, providing a diverse mix of corporate and marketing skills that would lay the groundwork for his time at Anthill.

He is sought as a media commentator (from Sky News to Today Tonight) on topics ranging from new media to raising venture capital in Australia. He is an occasional guest lecturer on entrepreneurship at the University of Melbourne, RMIT University and Swinburne University.

Francis McCarthy
