I realised how much attention internet users pay to likes and dislikes of videos, photos and posts on the internet. I then decided to take the idea of liking things and places from digital to the real world. Normally, in the real world you would have to Google a place or a product and then manually share it on your social networks prefilling description and photos. I decided to make it all possible in a single tap. Using Tapnlike anyone with a smartphone can create, like and keep track of interactive content.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…digitise everything and make the real world interactive and informative.

It does this by…

…making information accessible wherever and whenever you need it in a single tap of a phone using NFC. When you tap our sticker for the first time you’re prompted to download our app. Once it’s done, tap the sticker again to receive detailed information about a product. You can then put it on your timeline or create your own tags.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Not only does Tapnlike allow users to receive information and like real things, but also empowers people to create rich-content NFC tags within the app’s ecosystem.

Also, Tapnlike allows users to keep track of real things and places they liked by creating a timeline of “tapnlikes”.

Existing competitors (e.g. Tapit) focus on creating marketing campaigns. These marketing agencies charge $5,000 to $10,000 for a campaign depending on the size of organisation and only allow to push content to users. There is no existing creative NFC solution.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

…small and medium businesses in retail, expo and creative arts industries. They are shop/gallery managers who care about in-store experience of their customers. They like to engage with their customers in a novel way and deliver digital content together with real objects. They enjoy being early adopters and push new technology to market.

These businesses value innovative approach, but do not have big advertising budget. They also like to use technology creatively. Technology for our customers is a creative tool rather than a means of processing data.
