Since 2000, the American nonprofit has helped 503 women-led companies raise more than $5.5 billion in equity financing, including 10 IPOs. Eight of the companies are listed on the Nasdaq, two on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, and 26% merged, acquired or were acquired. Of the companies, 82% are still in business, generating $4 billion in revenues and creating thousands of jobs.

Ignition Labs, an ATP Innovations-backed clean technology accelerator, is giving a much-needed jumpstart to some of Australia’s newest, cleanest startups. The five teams chosen will join the 50 companies and over 300 staffers already in the ATP Innovations incubator. Each team accepted to the accelerator will be given three months to build a business plan, validate technology, and produce a working prototype. The Australian venture capital firm Starfish Ventures has invested $3 million in DesignCrowd, according to a media release dispatched on Thursday. The Australian start-up, a design crowdsourcing community with more than 40,000 registered graphic designers, plans to use the new investment to launch two new services in 2012 and to expand its client base outside Australia.
