It starts with a smallish woman bundled up in a gray coat and a big, red scarf. She stands up from her lunch at a food court in a mall in southern Ontario, Canada. A cell phone is pressed to the right ear. She opens her mouth and reveals a fixture-rattling soprano voice that belts the first couple of lines to Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” It’s a very festive flash mob!

Banksy’s dark, dark jab at 20th Century Fox
The darkly comedic introduction sequence, which was developed by UK stencil artist Banksy at the invitation of The Simpsons’ producers, was pulled from YouTube earlier today, prompting many tech-scene observers to speculate that the clip, which is clearly critical of the program’s production processes, ruffled some of the wrong feathers at Fox.
Is theatre the future of retail?
For beer consumers, I imagine this innovation might be an enormous boon (personally, I’m a quantity over quality type of guy). However, I suspect that the real commercial advantage drawn from the Beer Vault might not be its capacity to expand beer drinkers’ palates and prevent wastage.
