Swimply, the first online marketplace for pool sharing, recently announced its global expansion into Australia, servicing New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.

Founded by 22-year-old entrepreneur, Bunim Laskin, who, as the eldest of 12 children created Swimply out of necessity and a desire for relief and relaxation on a hot summer day. The app, available today for iOS and Android devices, connects owners of private pools with anyone looking to escape locally by renting a local pool by the hour.

“Australians love the outdoors and with the country’s long summers we are excited to be able to democratise the pool experience so every Australian can enjoy affordable access to this summertime luxury, while at the same time, help pool owners earn some extra cash on the side by renting out their pool on Swimply,” said Bunim Laskin, founder and CEO of Swimply.

    How exactly does Swimply work?

The idea ‘democratises’ pool ownership by allowing non-pool owners affordable access to this summertime luxury, while inviting owners to make an effortless and substantial income from their underutilised pool. With this concept, Bunim easily convinced private investors to support his venture with a AUD$1.7M pre-seed raise to build the world’s first online marketplace for pool sharing.

Through its user-friendly platform, Swimply makes enjoying a local pool even easier and proves that owning a pool no longer needs to be an expensive investment. Anyone seeking to list their pool on Swimply, and make some extra cash, has full control over availability, prices, pool rules, and whether or not to accept a given request.

In partnership with Poolwerx , Australasia’s largest pool and spa maintenance network , all pools are vetted before being listed on Swimply’s platform to ensure compliance with Australian health and safety standards, so guests can be confident of a high quality experience, every time.

To celebrate the launch of Swimply in Australia the company is offering a 20% discount for all first-time users looking to escape the heat this summer. Simply enter SWIMDOWNUNDER when you purchase your first Swimply experience to redeem to discount. Offer expires 31 December, 2019.
