Mario must be getting a bit long in the tooth these days considering that he’s been head butting bricks and chasing mushrooms for more than two decades. In that time he’s experienced a number of transformations, from games character to (not so successful) film star ^[1].

Well, now he’s been transmogrified into a physical presence once again with the help of some modern stop motion trickery.

While this clip is pretty impressive, what is intriguing is that with stop motion all the rage at the moment ^[2], a lot of the subjects appear to feature technologies and toys from yesteryear.
