1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

Longtime friends and Creative Directors Alaster Spiers and Thom Davy were frustrated with standard cloud service solutions that were one size fits all. Our trusty hard drives started giving way to services like Pinterest for inspiration, Dropbox for storage, WeTransfer for transferring files and Evernote for productivity. These are great services, but there was something always convoluted about cloud sharing workflow, not to mention all the passwords to remember and limitations that don’t cater to creative processes. Spiers and Davy were inspired by the ways technology was changing the game in terms of making it easier to create and collaborate faster across different mediums. Stashboard was created in March 2015 to provide people with innovative storage solutions, make collaborating on projects easy and generally help to improve organising their creative lives.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Provide cloud storage and collaboration for creative minds. Remove disjointed creative workflow enabling creatives to stay organised, be productive and allow seamless, friction-less teamwork without emails, phone calls and unnecessary meetings.

It does this by…

…providing a single location for every creative person to store and organise files & assets, manage & collaborate on projects and transfer & share files.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Stashboard is a leader in cloud storage and collaboration for creative minds.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

A place to store organise files and assets; collaborate, share and transfer; one place for all your creative activity whether personal or professional. Eliminates multiple services to get the work flow done efficiently

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Competitors like Dropbox and Evernote really provide one service – storage or productivity. Not even the giant and popular storage service Dropbox offers simple, easy storage mixed with creative ways to collaborate and be creative. While these companies solve the problem of how to store and organise, they don’t actually make organising and filing more interesting.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Dropbox for storage, Evernote for productivity, Google Drive & Onedrive for sharing and Basecamp for project management.
