Star Wars costumes and exhibits… in Spotswood?

0

Great news for Star Wars fans hit the web yesterday.

An exhibition, titled ‘STAR WARS: Where Science Meets Imagination’, will hit Australian shores as the “first exhibition to showcase costumes and props from all six STAR WARS movies while exploring cutting-edge research and modern technologies that could one day make the fantasy world of STAR WARS a reality” (according to the event promoters).

The show will feature more than 80 costumes, including Darth Vader’s black armour and a dress worn by Princess Leia. Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder, an antigravity craft, and interactive exhibits are also on display.

So where can you expect to see this ‘must see’ for wannabe Hans Solos and Chewbaccas?

In tradition with the hit sci-fi franchise’s catch-phrase, the event will take place in a galaxy ‘far, far away’, otherwise known as Spotswood, on the Melbourne Yarra’s Western shores. Of course, we refer to the strangely located but generally awesome Scienceworks Museum.

The exhibition will run from 4 June to 3 November 2009 and will cost $18 for adults or $6 for children.
