1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

Rosh Ghadamian was helping out his parents’ floor furnishing company based in Melbourne sometime in mid 2012. A client was about to expand into the baby products market and approached Rosh for some distribution help.

He agreed, and it didn’t take him long to realise that something was missing in the industry. Nobody was making affordable, high quality prams that could be completely customised.

Rosh and business partner Tahir Baig created an online retail model to fix the problem, and Rozibaby was born. Their prams would grow and change as a family’s needs do.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Offer a way for parents to design quality, affordable prams that can be customised to suit their various (and changing) needs. They can create a pram by selecting pieces that lock securely into place with one another – like LEGO pieces.

It does this by…

Offering an online ‘pram builder’ and a selection of customised options.

Everything from bassinet or seat style, amount and type of wheels and the colours are options available to parents. If a family has more than one child, they even have the option to add a skateboard or second seat attachment!

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Stumbling on a gap in the market, Rozibaby gives parents the opportunity to create a pram to suit any lifestyle and budget. Beforehand, pram options were extremely limited. Quality prams were outrageously expensive and lacked the customisation options to suit a parent’s changing needs.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

The biggest benefit of our pram is flexibility. Each piece locks securely into place with other Rozibaby pieces, changing the entire pram’s function in a matter of minutes.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Before Rozibaby, some high-end competitors gave their customers two colours to choose from. However, nobody was providing the flexibility or affordability that Rozibaby did.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Other brands of prams, which are often more expensive and less flexible.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

It is made for parents looking for a quality pram to suit any situation, without having to pay through the teeth. Rozibaby now has dozens of pieces to provide this.

They can do things like change the pram from three to four wheels and from a bassinet to a seat, all in a matter of minutes. They can even choose the colour so that it can be personalised.

Our pram is being received really well so far. In fact, it won first place for its category in the Product of the Year Awards.

It is available for sale through…

Our online store Rozibaby.com

Our marketing strategy is to…

Get as many people talking about our products as possible, so we are always glad to share our story with the media. In fact, Anthill recently ran a piece about us.

In the early days, we were lucky to be backed by a fantastic community of people wanting to talk about our products so a lot of our sales were through word of mouth referrals.

Your Turn — VOTE!

The Readers’ Choice Index was created to provide an opportunity for Anthill readers to vote on SMART 100 applications, in one of three ways:

  1. Tweet it: Top left of each page (3 points)
  2. Trigger a Reaction: Facebook ‘Like’, etc (2 points)
  3. Leave a Comment: Anonymous comments excluded (1 points)

We’ll use your vote to create the 2014 SMART 100 Readers’ Choice Index.
