Rochelle Rich, 30, created Financier in 2009 with the help of family and friends she was able to embark on her entrepreneurial endeavour. Though she started her entrepreneur journey at the age of 18, refining her idea throughout university and strived to outperform any competitors.
Financier is an Australia-wide online loans company that provides the simplest and easiest way for people to apply for and receive a personal loan. Applications take no more than five minutes to complete and the loan is sent straight to that persons account if approved during business hours. Offering fast and secure transfer options, Financier helps people invest.
Rochelle’s biggest setback ended up being the catalyst for her business idea. At 18 when it came time to buy a car, she was denied financing by the bank due to having a new credit history. She realised that there weren’t many creditable lenders out there giving people in her situation a fair chance.
“This experience helped drive the determination for Financier and we now look into each individual person’s circumstances rather than categorise and decline them,” she explained.
Since 2009, Financier has touched the lives of over 51,000 Australians with only a small team of three full-time employees, which she attributes to her teams mastery of technology that helps clear the way for simple, easy and ethical lending.
In April of last year, Financier won the 2016 Silver Australian Customer Service Award based on a fantastic response rate of 316 customer responses to the customer service survey.
Driven by the desire to realise a dream of becoming an entrepreneur, Rochelle overcame the naysayers and came out a young, successful businesswoman. She’s also driven by the flexibility her company gives her. Being able to maintain everything from a distance as long as she has her laptop and sim card, she is free to roam the world.
“In my opinion luck is not a single event, rather a culmination of days, months or years of planning but I am forever grateful for the people in my life who have created those opportunities for me to seem lucky.”

“My super-power is seeing strengths in individuals and placing them accordingly. This helps them to realise how powerful they are as an individual, or in a team environment, which ends up pushing the team to achieve more than that individual could achieve on their own.”
