It was only a matter of time. Columbia Pictures has adapted the story of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, to create The Social Network, due for US release in October. Naturally, we’re wondering what the pre-publicity campaign will look like. Billboards, TV, radio? (Or just good ol’ fashion social media.)
The tagline ‘You don’t make 500 million friends without making enemies’ is intriguing, as is the minimalist preview below.

However, the Zuckerberg story faces stiff competition, with the Middle Men (below) due for release in August. Yup, it’s another tale of internet fame and fortune ‘based on a real story’ — the ‘invention’ of ecommerce. Although, we suspect that the makers of the latter movie have embraced their creative licences with a tad more gusto.
