1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

I woke my wife at 5 a.m. during the 2012 Christmas Holidays and said I’ve done it, I solved Online Printing, I’ve invented Wotif for the printing industry.

We had a hell of a time getting funding as everybody thinks printing is dead but our section of the industry is tipped to grow by $250 Billion (yes that is a B) per annum over the next few years.

So we have boot strapped and scrounged to get here. Things really started taking off for us this January when we threw out the American technology and replaced it with our homegrown solution.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

The purpose of this innovation is to democratise the process of sourcing high-quality printing services. PeoplePRINT helps customers easily define their printing job, instantly shows prices and descriptions from leading printing companies at that job then verifies and delivers their artwork and order to said printer.

It does this by…

It does this by holding a database of more than 200,000 printing products from Australia’s most innovative quality printing companies fronted by a unique wizard to guide the customer through the labyrinth of printing jargon.

We have removed so much stupid overhead from the process, the prices are fantastic and the automation means most jobs turn around in three days.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

PeoplePRINT is the first Online Printing system in the world that supports multiple suppliers which allows customer to go online and compare apples with apples. Before, customers had to chase and wait for quotes, then try to decipher them before going online to learn yet another new ordering system. Or worse, no system at all.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Life is too short to have to chase after printers before, during and after you order from them. PeoplePRINT saves customers a good two hours of their own time with each print order and about 30% of the cost.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

I went to the biggest Printing Technology Fair in Dusseldorf to review 52 Online Printing Systems. All of them only support one destination, making them useless to all but the most intermittent of print buyers.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

People normally think Vistaprint but their range is limited and print quality is poor. More often than not customers are forced to ring around for quotes, wait 24 hours for the response and then email the artwork.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

You.

It is available for sale through…

PeoplePRINT.com.au and coming to some far sexier design websites very soon.

Our marketing strategy is to…

We:

  • are smashing SEM.
  • just started cause-based marketing.
  • are working hard on key partnerships.
  • think hard about how to get the message to people who hate how much they pay in time, cash and angst to buy printing but don’t know there is a better way and haven’t thought to search.

All suggestions gratefully accepted.
