Nominate a Website of the Week.

February 19, 2010 | By James Tuckerman

Sometimes we come across a website that we define as ‘remarkable’ – a word we don’t use lightly at Anthill.

We don’t employ this word as a substitute for exceptional or exciting (even though it can be applied to mean both things).

Rather, we use ‘remarkable’ in its purest sense by asking ourselves is the subject of our attention worth being ‘remarked’ (i.e. spoken) about?

This is how we decide what site to feature as our ‘website-of-the-week’.

If you know of a website (preferrably an Australian one) that you think is ‘remarkable’, please leave a comment or complete the form below, telling us:

  1. Why this site captured your attention;
  2. How it is different; and,
  3. What makes it so effective at achieving its purpose.

We’ll check out your suggestions when deciding what site to profile as our ‘website-of-the-week’.

    1. It has a simple, easy to use interface.
    2. It’s a travel budgeting tool that aggregates data to create real time data for users.
    3. It provides unique functionality like currency conversion, charts, graphs, and tables.

    clothingrush.com.au is an online media for clothing and fashion. It provides businesses a place to list their sales online, including photos and YouTube videos. It also converts their address to a Google Map. Shoppers can find the sales in their area through a search function including searching for sales of a particular item within the radius of a postcode. Great for both businesses and shoppers.

9 things a 9 month-old can teach you about online marketing [VIDEO]

This morning, I sat down with my 9-month old son, Julian, to feed him breakfast. This is one of the jobs allocated to me as a first-time, new father. Remembering the arduous steps required to complete yesterday morning’s meal (and the day before that), and contemplating how bizarre it is that I must work so hard to provide him something that will make him stronger and healthier and happier, I began to think about online marketing. Yes, the brain works in mysterious ways. (And I am kind of sleep deprived.)
