When I went to purchase my first car, there were so many things I did not know and did not understand about the process. After a great deal of research and conversing with friends I still made a lot of mistakes. Realising how much research and street know-how is required, I created this iPhone application, which can help at the most important time, when you actually go to look at and purchase a car.

My Wheels is designed to help people avoid pitfalls when buying a car, from encumbrances, inspection, test drive, and costs, and to allow cars to be shared easily with friends and trusted mechanics to get honest feedback.

It does this by…

First, it uses an accelerometer and oscilloscope to record test drives in a unique and new way. Then it plays back to assess noise and turbulence, combined with the detailed wizards which guide users to the process of buying a car and the ability to share car profiles with friends to get feedback. Together, all of this helps people get the car they want.

The various car guides have jumbled information, and require too much reading to take in at once. This application allows the information to be available when it is needed the most, when actually looking at the car. The information is presented in clear concise steps to build a rating for the car in various areas.
