1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

After the outdoor experiential marketing activations that we’ve done at S1T2, there’s a pattern that widens the margin of error – the sun. It’s why many ideas aren’t executed – traditional computer vision technology is incapable of performing flawlessly under the sun. Widening our research and development horizons has shown us applications of Sick TiM5xx lasers commonly used in large factories to ensure worker safety and mitigate hazards. It functions well under sunlight, making it the perfect candidate. We’ve circumvented proprietary data, and reprogrammed it for our purposes, and the application of this laser has decreased the margin of error.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

The purpose of this innovation is to allow more outdoor experiential marketing activations. It’s capable of making readings and data more accurate, opening the door wide open to plenty future marketing innovations in the experiential space.

It does this by…

The particular application in our latest activation uses the laser scanning at a programmed field of 500 hertz/sec, it detects the reflectivity of the object, provides a real time point cloud, then translates the raw binary data into a readable x&y coordinate within the laser field.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

It’s the first to be able to track motion accurately in direct sunlight, or in any environment that exceeds 80,000 lux. It’s conceivable under all weather conditions and minuses the doubt and guessing from traditional computer vision.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

It allows marketers to be more imaginative about communicating brand experiences in outdoor scenarios. It gives end consumers better and more exciting brand experiences, that infinitely more authentic.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Constructing temporary enclosures to hold the experiential activations to protect them from the sun and other elements, they’re large, costly, require a lot of setup, and have a massive footprint.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

General vision cameras, infrared cameras, Kinekt, depth cameras, ultrasonic sensors, pressure pads, and accelerometers.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

The accuracy of outdoor experiential activations that perform the way they’re intended under the harshest weather conditions. Assuring brands and marketers that their experiential activations will perform as close to their ideal.

It is available for sale through…

…S1T2’s experiential marketing services.

Our marketing strategy is to…

The bounds of experiential marketing outdoors are now wider, we can approach brands who are based or associated with outdoor activities. We’re capable to taking on challenges that would push the envelope for brands to be different, so that their stories aren’t just seen on screen but translated into an authentic outdoor experience .
