One company, based out of Singularity University, has developed the first, real-world medical tricorder!
Called the Scandau Scout, this little device can give instant readings of your medical data, send it to your smartphone and then, it can be shared with your doctor.
Soon, you’ll be able to pay for your coffee via your smartphone and also see the effect of the caffeine hit on your body, before you walk out of the cafe!
Scandau raised a massive $1.6 million via crowdfunding site IndieGoGo. The company was seeking only $100,000 in crowdfunding. This was raised in the first hour!
This week, Scandau announced an additional $10.4 million in funding has been received from Relay Ventures. The Scandau Scout is scheduled to be available for retail purchase in the first quarter of 2014.
