Cool Company Awards

The Cool Company Awards were launched in 2006 as a way for Anthill to acknowledge and celebrate Australian organisations that are doing things differently to bring about positive change. Cool Companies stay one step ahead of the rest. They breed leaders who are rule-makers and rule-breakers. They are trend-setters in attitude and action. Quite simply, they are … cool! More.

There is nothing cooler than a company that exists to end global poverty in this lifetime. Thankyou creates consumer products (water, food body care and baby) and gives 100 per cent of the profits to aid and development programs. Thankyou’s book, Chapter One, is sold at a pay-what-you-want price.

The idea for Thankyou was born out of co-founder Daniel Flynn’s frustration, in 2008, that over 900 million people didn’t have access to safe drinking water on a daily basis, yet the Australian bottled water industry was worth an estimated $600 million a year. So, he took a counter-intuitive move and launched his own bottled-water brand.

Thankyou products are now available at over 4000 outlets, including Coles, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, Priceline and independent supermarkets, as well as its own online store. Chapter One is available online or through Newslink, Relay and Audible. To date, Thankyou’s customers have helped deliver life changing projects to 572,333 people.
Thankyou’s food range has no artificial colours or flavours and its body and baby care range is free from nasties such as SLS, SLES, EDTA and parabens. Its entire range of products is environmentally friendly and, if that’s not enough, Thankyou takes cool to the next level by having meetings in rooms made out of recycled wood and glass.

A lean marketing budget does not get in the way of creativity.  Thankyou’s marketing strategy is to be human. It is no wonder, therefore, that the company has gained world-wide attention for its disruptive marketing campaigns, achieving huge growth and mainstream awareness in only eight short years.

For the company’s supporters to see that they are making an impact, Thankyou created Track Your Impact – a web-based app that connects customers to their impact.

Each product has a unique code that when entered at www.thankyou.co/impact shows customers the exact project their product is assigned to fund, complete with GPS coordinates.

Now, is that cool or what?
