Anthill Cool Company Awards
The Cool Company Awards were launched in 2006 as a way for Anthill to acknowledge and celebrate Australian organisations that are doing things differently to bring about positive change. Cool Companies stay one step ahead of the rest. They breed leaders who are rule-makers and rule-breakers. They are trend-setters in attitude and action. Quite simply, they are … cool! More.

Thankyou is empowering the average Aussie to change the world through simple choices made on a daily basis. And the company’s intentions are of the noblest sort.
The idea behind Thankyou began in 2008, when then 19 year-old Founder, Dan Flynn, came to a startling realisation about the something most people take for granted. What struck him was the fact that, while the average Aussie could simply pour clean water out of the faucet, people around the world were faced with a woeful lack of clean drinking water. The sharp contrast in water access was compounded, in Flynn’s mind, by the fact that Australians spend an average of $600 million on bottled water each year.
Thankyou is company solely focused on reconciling that disparity. The ensuing years proved hard, but on now, Thankyou encompasses three different brands, Thankyou Water, Thankyou Food, and Thankyou Body Care. This brings not only water, but also food and hygiene products to countries in need, all around the globe.
Thankyou focuses on social media, PR, events, and sampling, in order to raise brand awareness. In doing so, the company reaches a combined audience of about 75,000.
Thankyou uses a unique impact tracking system that lets those who purchase its products know how their purchases impact the world. Purchasing one bottle of bottled water, via Thankyou Water, provides at least one month’s worth of water to someone in need. Each pack of food purchased through Thankyou Food gives one week’s worth of food aid to someone in need, and impacts long-term food safety. Similarly, purchasing one bottle of Thankyou Body Care products provides access to health and hygiene training for a person in need.
Thankyou Communications Manager, Sarah Prescott, tells us, “Our Track Your Impact system allows customers to see the exact impact of their Thankyou purchase through entering their unique product code (found on every Thankyou packet or bottle) into the web app found at thankyou.co.”
That’s the best kind of quid pro quo, if you ask us. And the results are plain to see, thanks to a first-of-its-kind “micro-donor” model.
