Cool Company Awards

The Cool Company Awards were launched in 2006 as a way for Anthill to acknowledge and celebrate Australian organisations that are doing things differently to bring about positive change. Cool Companies stay one step ahead of the rest. They breed leaders who are rule-makers and rule-breakers. They are trend-setters in attitude and action. Quite simply, they are … cool! More.

Linkfluencer founder Alex Pirouz is a man on a mission.

While LinkedIn offers one of the  most powerful platforms in the world for making business connections, most people simply treat it as an extension of their CV.

Having personally used the platform to gain media exposure, secure partnerships and generate leads, Alex knew from experience that LinkedIn could be used to do more… so much more. Taking the lessons learned from his own experiences, he started his own academy, competing with LinkedIn’s own training platform, called Lynda.

From humble beginnings, the network grew… and grew… and grew. With a team of less than four people, Linkfluencer now has membership in the thousands, with students from 30 countries and 55 industries, at last count.

Whereas many companies in the online marketing space do not practice and implement what they preach, Alex explains attributes his organisation’s success to his own experimental approach.

“We only teach strategies, systems and methods that have worked in helping us grow our own companies. Therefore, we are practitioners, as well as educators,” Alex recently told Anthill.

And this is having a far reaching impact.

“We believe entrepreneurship is the future and driver of the economy. By helping them better market their business, they in turn build out their mission and together we make the world a better place.”

The company, which Alex stated with funds from personal savings and (by his own account) ‘hustling’, provides entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to grow their businesses online through the world’s most recognised professional social media network.

“We have some of the world’s most renowned marketing and online experts copying our landing pages, ads, videos and everything else under the sun,” Alex adds.

“The biggest form of flattery is imitation, we feel flattered and humble to lead the way.”
