There are a lot of figures being bandied about to illustrate current global economic woes. But sometimes, a simple graph is all that is required to get the message across.

Consider Exhibit A (below): A chart comparing US  job losses in the current recession to job losses in recent recessions.

Not pretty.

    No question the market has responded to the unbridled greed of the past, system will again be put in place to try and stop it happening again BUT be rest assured opportunities always find a home and in fifteen years there will be another batch of bright eyed bullish Z Gen snake peddlers rehashing “the gift” or whatever the latest gimmick will be.

    I’m no economist but maybe need took at economic % growth (the boom) prior to the bust to get a true relational perspective.
