While the acting may not be great, the concept for this short film is interesting.
It’s set in a future where gamification has taken on a whole new meaning. Contact lenses have a new application and the way people interact with their world moves squarely into the realm of creepy.
Better yet, snail zombies exist. So, I’m hopeful Hypno Toad will be there, too.
Somehow, it reminds me of a guy I knew who was dating a girl in another country. They would both go to a restaurant in their respective cities and have dinner together, over Skype. But, this short film goes a few steps further into the world of digital dating.
It’s a great piece of future thinking, with a nice twist at the end. Thankfully, the twist isn’t in the whiskey nightcap. They drink that neat.
This may be the future of gaming, apps and human implants, but I think Ikea is going to bomb in this potential future world. The gamification of life seems to mean spartan apartments and less furniture.
Hat tip to Pauly Ting for sending in this video.
Warning: mild salty language.
