iPhone app to help you avoid banana skins and other slapstick footpath nasties

The myriad apps making their way onto Apple’s iPhone App store range from functional to preposterous.
However, here’s one that at first appears a bit of a gimmick, but could actually prove quite useful. The app uses the iPhone camera to display the illusion of a transparent screen, so you can see what’s in front of you while you carry on working in the application of your choice — for example, writing a text message or tweet.
The developers claim that it will work with any app that accepts copy and paste, and any site correctly configured for Mobile Safari.
A word of warning though: we’re not sure the police would accept it as an acceptable excuse for driving safely while texting your friends!
