Ice stones cool your drink without watering it down

July 20, 2009 | By Paul Ryan

From the quirky and cool file…

Ice stones are about the size as ice cubes, but they they cool your drink down without diluting it. Perfect for those with a taste for expensive single malt whiskey, or simply like their red cordial mixed just right.

From the product description:

Ice Stones are made in Vermont from natural soapstone, by the craftsmen of the oldest soapstone workshop in the United States. The stones are non-porous, and will impart neither flavor nor odor. Much more gentle than ice, Ice Stones are used to cool down your favourite spirit just enough to take the edge off without “closing down” the flavours. And it’s as easy as pie: place them in the freezer for at least 4 hours before use. Add 3 stones to a glass. Pour until liquid has reached the height of 1 stone. Let stand for 5 minutes. Sit back and enjoy. Absolutely lovely! Once you are done, rinse and air dry the stones and back in the freezer they go, ready to be deployed again.

9 things a 9 month-old can teach you about online marketing [VIDEO]

This morning, I sat down with my 9-month old son, Julian, to feed him breakfast. This is one of the jobs allocated to me as a first-time, new father. Remembering the arduous steps required to complete yesterday morning’s meal (and the day before that), and contemplating how bizarre it is that I must work so hard to provide him something that will make him stronger and healthier and happier, I began to think about online marketing. Yes, the brain works in mysterious ways. (And I am kind of sleep deprived.)
