As the saying goes...

“Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.”

In this instance, still not sure who has more experience. ;-)

And don't forget the 45 minutes I spent writing this post! ;-)

I guess the great thing about social media platforms is that they allow us to do many things more efficiently. They allow us to connect, share ideas and progressively make the world a better place. But, like any new tool, the 'etiquette' is still evolving. Blogs were once derided. Yet, they now allow us to explore issues, involving multiple opinions.

Once people learn to responsibly use a tool like Twitter, I see this platform having a big, positive impact. Just ask the citizen-activists in Iran. Or, the author of this blog:

How I used Twitter to put a CEO on the street (http://anthillonline.com/how-i-used-twitter-to-put-a-ceo-on-the-street/)

There is one key requirement for winning an argument through any online medium - and especially Twitter. It's not being right. It's not having the smartest debating skills. It's not even having the most time on your hands. It's having the greatest stamina. If some of the energy devoted to online arguments was put to solving the climate issue, we'd have terraformed Mars by now.
