Gina Lednyak, 30, started L&A Social in 2012 out of the hallway in her home. With a dream to help brands grow through technology and social media, Lednyak built a successful company with a culture that would change employee’s lives for the better.
Five years since then, L&A Social works with over 40 innovative global and national clients and consists of engaged, talented and passionate team of 12 people, with offices in Sydney and Los Angeles. As L&A continues to grow rapidly, so does the scope of services they offer.
A huge feat for anyone at the age of 21, but an even bigger feat for Lednyak who moved to Sydney on her own with no savings and no idea of what she wanted to do once she arrived.
Her biggest setback happened a little over two years ago, when an employee left L&A to create an identical agency using the same IP. “I took a step away from being ‘nice’ and stood up for what was right, for myself, L&A and my team.”
Once Ledynak took action, this individual ceased marketing and stopped using the L&A IP. Her response to this situation resulted in her clients, her team and her network choosing to stand behind her, and L&A grew by over 100% in the following year.
Now, her contracts are “airtight” and she has helped two other founders deal with very similar situations.
Growing up, Ledynak felt as though the world was filled with magic, however, the harsh reality of entering adulthood made her realize this wasn’t the case. So, she wanted to create a workplace for herself and for others where they get to fulfill their dreams, love what they do everyday and drive to genuinely push their boundaries – “creating magic for ourselves, our clients and the people whose lives we touch.”
Anthill asked Ledynak, what is your super-power?
“Persistence and positivity.
“[But] my actual super-power would be flying – I absolutely love being in the air and have my skydiving licence and doing my pilots licence.”
