Five entrepreneurial sparks have found a new business home at Hub Adelaide

Adelaide’s brightest innovators have moved into their new business home at Hub Adelaide after winning a place in Hub Adelaide’s Spark 2017 program. The coveted program, backed by the Renewal SA, aims to support South Australian entrepreneurship and drive business innovation.

Successful Spark applicants receive a startup’s dream package; 12 months free use of the coworking space Hub Adelaide, mentorship through Hub Australia’s extensive national and international networks and a spot on the four-month Venture Dorm program run by the New Venture Institute at Flinders University.

“Hub Australia is proud to provide South Australian startups an opportunity to grow their business and skillset through the Hub Adelaide Spark program. Entry into the program is competitive and the calibre of applicants received demonstrates the strength of South Australia’s innovative business community,” said Shadie Shafii, Hub Australia General Manager.

Successful applicants into the Spark program this year are:

1. Boxhead Productions – Scott Cabot

Specialises in producing games for wellness through interactive digital experiences that not only provide enjoyment but help facilitate areas of education, physical rehabilitation or mental resilience.

2. City ReCycle – Josh Garratt

A pedal-powered waste management business which can reduce an office building’s waste-to-landfill by up to 80%.

3. NailBreak – Emily Hanna

On demand in-office Manicures designed to pamper and relax staff, aiming to improve employee productivity and wellbeing.

4. VenYou – Josh O’Shaughnessy

‘Shake and win’ technology for hospitality industries to increase customer retention and attraction.

5. Wallis Barber Supplies – Alex Wallis

A South Australian made, owned and operated company supplying specialty men’s grooming supplies to individuals and businesses.
