Asaf Brukarz decided to take on the real estate industry in a big way, and the industry is begrudgingly coming around.
The result, PropConnect is an online system for handling and tracking property sales in high-density developments.
Many problems abound online with the multi-unit housing market in particular: “Developers sometimes don’t pay commissions, agents deceive purchasers and the public is left in the dark about the ins and outs of the industry,” says Brukarz.
It isn’t just industry attitudes, either; it’s the legal precedent that he has run up against in sanctioning electronic transactions.
Fortunately, Brukarz won approval for PropConnect’s model from Consumer Affairs Victoria, and now real estate of more than $1 million in value is transacted online through the system daily.
“Not even realestate.com.au can lay claim to actually transacting any property sales,” he says proudly.
Could this become the new standard for property sales worldwide?
Brukarz, a SMART 100 innovator and winner for best pitch at the Young Entrepreneur’s Unconvention, is looking forward to swaying the doubters.
