1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

We started work on the concept back in Sept 2013. At that point, a company in the USA just started on demand grocery delivery. We were the first to launch such a service to Australia.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Australia’s fastest grocery delivery platform, connecting customers with our managed network of “crowdsourced” personal shoppers who deliver groceries in as little as 90 minutes from local stores.

It does this by…

Offering customers a choice of stores to shop at, including Woolworths, Coles and ALDI, and immediately dispatch orders to ‘personal shoppers’ in their area who promptly fulfill the order – all while being tracked in real time.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Customers expect convenience at the click of a button. Supermarkets have been slow to adapt with next day service and two to three hour delivery windows. People are becoming increasingly time poor and finding it difficult to complete everyday chores such as grocery shopping.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Customers can plan to the precise minute when to expect their delivery, and can order anywhere and at any time from any device. Our personal shoppers will fight traffic jams, car park nightmares, busy checkout counters, and screaming kids!

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Traditionally, customers physically did their own grocery shopping. In recent years, Coles and Woolworth’s have pushed their online option with next day service and two to three hour delivery windows. Aldi do not deliver at all so customers have to visit the store. Convenience stores also played a role but are expensive.
