How to delight your customers: plant an Easter egg [VIDEO]

No, I don’t mean one of the chocolate ones that have been in the supermarkets for the past three months. (What is with that already?!)

I mean a hidden surprise. One that only the truly dedicated ones will appreciate.

It’s not a surprise that Elon Musk has added an Easter egg to his Tesla vehicles. (And, while it’s almost Easter, it’s also almost my birthday. Just a subtle reminder…)

Musk bought one of the Lotus Esprit cars from the 1977 James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me. And, I mean, if you had a spare $1.5 million lying around, wouldn’t you have wanted to buy that Bond car?

And, in a massive hat tip to all James Bond fans, the latest Tesla Model S has an Easter egg that turns the vehicle into a submersible. There’s also a subtle reference to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, as well.

It was a fairly reasonable assumption that anyone who buys a Tesla is also going to be a bit of James Bond fan. So, finding this Easter egg is going to make Tesla owners even more delighted with this wicked, sick purchase.

Well played Tesla, well played.
