Debate rages at Mumbrella/Anthill Online Marketing by Design in Sydney last night — #mumhill feed

February 3, 2010 | By Paul Ryan

There were plenty of great insights and conversations about marketing and social media shared at last night’s Online Marketing By Design event held at the Shelbourne Hotel in Sydney, co-hosted by Mumbrella and Anthill Magazine.

We videoed proceedings and will be posting the best bits on Monday, but to get a taste of the passions that the event provoked in attendees, here’s a widget containing all the live tweets from the night, using the hash tag #mumhill.

Hi James,

Great energy and insightful panelists. I wish it went on longer :) I particularly enjoyed your last question about the solar panel case study.

As I lay awake that night I wondered what a more detailed answer what look like. And so a blog post was born. http://cleverclicks.com.au/anthill-online-marketing-by-design/

Anything you’d do differently?

Cheers
Philip.

Really handy to get that list Philip (cheers) and interesting to read your ideas on the hypothetical…
I really enjoyed hearing the responses that the panel had here, and wished that we could have spent more time on it. Would have liked to heard a bit more from the journalist on the panel particularly, since it was suggested by James that such roles would be integral to the Social Media Campaign.
Ok… for those that are game… here’s another question.. What about typical SME’s with little to no budget and fairly time poor… lets say a gift hamper company or similar service… what would you regard as the most important things to concentrate on to get the best ROI from Social Media? This I am anticipating will be a FAQ for companies keen to get started, but don’t know how…. And this wasn’t really covered too much during the evening…. maybe one to cover at another similar event in the not to distant future :)

Snazzy Napper: Anthill’s search for the world’s most brainless innovation continues

The product developers describe the innovation as “the snazzy way to sleep while you travel”. What they don’t explain is how this innovation hasn’t yet caused race riots in a country already irrationally fearful of similar headware and community centres. Could this be the most brainless innovation ever?
