Today, Garry and Leon speak with Simon McKeon, executive chairman of Macquarie Bank; chairman of CSIRO, Australia’s world-class scientific and industrial research organisation; founding president of the Australian Takeovers Panel, involved with education at both high school and university level; a board member of World Vision Australia and of the VisionFund, which looks after World Vision’s international development programs; world-class yachtsman (and medal winner in Olympic yachting); and involved with Multiple Sclerosis Australia – he was diagnosed with the disease about ten years ago.

In this podcast, McKeon talks about his vision for CSIRO and the status of scientific research in Australia, its problems and its promise for Australia’s future.
