1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

Co-Founders Akshay Sachdeva, Dengke Sha and Yang Chen were having a conversation about how technology is making people disconnected and socially isolated. Upon realising that it is quite hard to meet new people that have similar interests as you, the trio decided to build an app to solve this problem, being a team with a combination of marketing & business, software development and user experience and design skills.

Acting quickly on the idea to build an app for people with similar interests to connect for a coffee, Akshay & Dengke set out to test the idea by running a few events around Melbourne to match people with common interests to have coffee together. The events are currently gaining momentum around Melbourne, while Yang works through completing the product development.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

The purpose of this innovation is to help people make new friends with similar interests, face-to -face, for a coffee. We want to make it really easy for people to meet new people!

It does this by…

It connects you with people who are near you, and have similar interests as you, for a coffee at a nearby coffee shop. It’s that simple!

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

It connects people to meet for a coffee face-to-face instantly! It improves on what has been done before, because nothing like has been done before! Our main point of difference is making it super easy for people to meet new people, whenever and wherever they are, and bring some social adventure to their life!

Its various benefits to the customer / end-user include…

Being able to meet new people, spontaneously, and have a quality coffee conversation on the basis of common interests.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

People having to take a lot of initiative to meet new people. They had to get over their social inhibitions of meeting new people. So the problem was mainly solved by self driven initiative. But not many people have too much time these days, and we want to make it really easy for people to meet new people.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

There are a few apps that are a bit similar that have only been recently released. But we still have a point of difference to connect people in real time, instantly.

 5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

People who want to meet like minded people anywhere. People who are bored at the airport waiting for their flight, people who go alone for lunch/coffee, people who want a bit of social adventure.

It is available for sale through…

We are yet to launch but the app will be available on the Apple and Android Stores

Our marketing strategy is to…

Use plenty of PR, branding and growth hacking.
