I have found a large number of SME's do not realise that Twitter, if used correctly is an excellent marketing tool, the amount of business opportunities available thru local business connections does not stop in Australia, one needs to think global as well. I have been using Twitter since 2009, and tweet about software releases, accounting, training sessions, biz workshops, seminars and cloud computing.

Since becoming a Xero Partner in Jan 2010 (Online Accounting Software see www.xero.com) I recently secured a couple of software training contracts thru Twitter from companies requiring support who are based overseas. Example. A tweet comes thru for a particular product or service, eg. "is there anyone who can help me with Xero". By replying and forwarding contact details to potential client(s) one can discuss their needs via a Skype conference call or email. Nowadays with Paypal facilities in place a consultant can bill in advance for blocks of hours mutually agreed upon. I am a huge fan of Twitter, and have assisted businesses with training where had it not been for Twitter would never have had this opportunity. Anyone wanting to follow my Tweets can do so by creating a Twitter Account and send me a Tweet. My Twitter name is JillOfAllTradz. Happy Tweeting.
