James Stapledon, 2012 Anthill 30under30 Honourable Mention

"Reduction before production" is James Stapledon's sustainability mantra, and as an entrepreneur he's managed to still be, well, pretty darn productive. Lighting Matters, whose LED lights were among the first of their kind to hit the market, posted half a million in revenues after its first year and has refined its leading online presence since.

Andrew Frahm, 2012 Anthill 30under30 Honourable Mention

What's more auspicious, and fitting, for a budgeting specialist site than being named Shoe String Startup of the Month? Gabriele Ulacco, 2012 Anthill 30under30 Honourable Mention

Gabriele Ulacco sees mass technology affecting not just multimedia, but physical forms of production, and nowhere more than in architecture -- which defines AR-MA's practice. The firm (which stands for Architectural Research - Material Applications) consults with artists on challenging art projects and buildings, to help them realise their designs with a mathematical precision.

Amanda Ryan, 2012 Social Entrepreneur (Anthill 30under30)

The first thing you associate with Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, probably isn't fashion. Then again, nor would you have founded Bachhara, as Amanda Ryan did, as a tool for empowering women and their indigent communities. Her original idea, in 2008, was to organise a sewing centre to raise funds for the school where she was volunteering. Although Ryan had no business experience, she had plenty of willpower, optimism and pure spunk to bring her idea to fruition.

David Truong, 2012 Anthill 30under30 Honourable Mention

It's not easy to get kids to learn maths, which is why David Truong is gaming things up.
