1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

Having helped NFP’s manage their fleet vehicles for almost two decades, our founder, James Ehmann, started to hear from disability organisations about the need for short term hire of accessible vehicles under the NDIS and began to develop an online system to help organisations tackle the issue of transportation for people living with a disability under the new scheme.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…allows disability service organisations to share accessible vehicles with other service providers and people living with a disability.

It does this by…

…an online portal with mobile functionality and an app to make the process a smooth as possible.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

In some states around Christmas and Easter (peak times) people living with a disability (PWD) need to book access taxis 9-12 months in advance. Meaning they need to be thinking about what they want to be doing next Christmas this Christmas. CARL will help PWD’s have greater access to these vehicles under the NDIS.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Service providers will receive revenue for their vehicles and access to other service provider fleets at low cost. People with a disability will have access to the same vehicles at the click of a button.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

There is no disability sharing platform in existence currently that combines both external hiring to organisations and people with a disability alike.

Go get has some modified vehicles for hire nationally, but have limited numbers. Some organisations have informal hire arrangements with other orgs, but these are haphazard and often don’t charge money.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

Disability service industry and NDIS participants.

It is available for sale through…

VIA online web portal and phone based app.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Work with disability service peak bodies to gain access to their members organisations and display at disability conferences and via social media.
