1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

We are two first time inner-west mums who saw a huge gap when it came to balancing the needs of going back to work and being there for our babies. We were struggling to get appropriate daycare, not a family member in sight, and although our employers were happy for us to work from home, our crazy hands-on baby boys were always underfoot making it difficult. We were desperately searching for a solution that allowed us to be there for our kids, but at the same time progress our careers as working professionals. So we created Bubs & Boardrooms.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Flexible working is the way of the future, and most small business owners and corporates are using flexibility as a major draw card to keep talented workers. Unfortunately, the reality of flexible working with a child is really hard.

It does this by…

We provide a working space for parents and a playspace for kids, so parents can get some work done but still have the flexibility to enjoy their kids during the day.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

We have created a community of parents and a space that is work friendly and parent friendly. It is a flexible option for parents who run their own business and cannot commit to childcare.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Parents can get work done while their kids are being minded next door. They can see their kids at any time and be there to put them to bed for a nap and see them when they wake up.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

There are daycares, and co-working spaces and we just saw the gap to put these services together to benefit parents.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

…nannies, daycare centres.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

…parents with kids aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

It is available for sale through…

We have one office open in Sydney and are looking to expand.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Currently we work on word of mouth, social media and media coverage.
