Name: Briella Brown
Age: 22 (Born: June 1995)
Gender: Female
State: NSW
Known for: Your Closet – http://www.your-closet.com.au

Briella Brown, 22, is an innovative young entrepreneur, who launched Your Closet in 2014.

Your Closet is an online service that allows women to rent high end designer dresses for a fraction of the purchase price.

A trend that was taking off in the United States and Europe at the time Brown had entered university. Seizing an opportunity to bring this concept to Australia, Your Closet has partnered and works directly with designers Alex Perry, Nicholas, Josh Goot and Camilla, Camilla and Marc.

Brown was looking to revolutionise the way women approach dressing for special occasions.

“Purchasing something which is only used once is archaic!

“I am keen to create a company that allows women Australia-wide to look and feel their best without breaking the bank.”

So, she disrupted an industry and democratised high-end fashion. At the age of 17, Brown had managed to convince some of Australia’s premier designers to allow her to rent their prestigious and well-known designs.

Your Closet prices include complementary return shipping and dry cleaning. With a three hour shipping service in Sydney and next day delivery throughout Australia, Your Closet aims to be the go-to service for your last minute fashion requirements.

No marketing budget hasn’t held Brown back in any way. Appearing on Shark Tank in June 2016 and receiving a deal with Janine Allis and Naomi Simson has helped her create buzz around Your Closet, along with being featured in Mamamia, Daily Mail, Manly Daily, Peninsula Living, Start Up Daily, Daily Telegraph and the homepage of SMH online because of her Shark Tank success.

Between January and December 2015, Your Closet grew by 20 per cent month-to-month and achieved $40,000 in revenue for November and December, something Brown never thought she could achieve in her first year of business.

Brown told Anthill that her greatest super-power is her youth.

“I am young and naïve to a certain extent and [therefore,] approach everything with no thoughts about failure. This trait has served me well as I am fiercely determined once I set my mind to it.”
