Australian venture technology company BlueChilli has appointed Eric Lawrence as Chief Financial Officer. In fact, like lightning, he is already in the job.

Eric is a founding partner of finance consultancy, CFO Plus, and has executive director experience in two listed UK Companies and a number of unlisted companies.

A new ingredient in BlueChilli’s recipe for success

Recently, he led a successful re-banking and finance function transformation as CFO of McWilliam’s Wines Group. Eric has successfully undertaken Divisional CFO roles at News Ltd in Australia and at FTSE 100 media company Emap plc, gaining exposure to demanding compliance and group reporting regimes.

BlueChilli CEO Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin said Eric was a perfect addition to the BlueChilli team, particularly given BlueChilli’s ongoing drive to secure additional venture capital this year.

“BlueChilli is growing fast and someone of Eric’s experience with startups and his skills in public and private fund raising, acquisitions and disposals make him a great asset to the team,” Sebastian said.

A well-seasoned addition

Eric has occupied divisional CFO roles in two major international groups gaining exposure to demanding compliance and group reporting regimes.

When he was but a wee entrepreneur, Eric was a founding director of two startup ventures in the UK commercial radio sector, which acquired under-performing stations. His mission then: turn the stations around.

“I enjoy working with companies that are growing, and BlueChilli is certainly growing fast, with a portfolio worth more than $70million,” Mr Lawrence said.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my skillset to BlueChilli to help bring further venture funding on board, and provide with the financial guidance to the startup businesses within the group,” he said.
