Australia’s inaugural award’s program for the e-retail industry will be held in July at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. A first not only for Australia but also for the Australasia region, the Online Retail Industry Awards (the ORIAs) will recognise and reward nominated online and multichannel retailers for excellence in e-commerce.
The online retail space in Australia has grown dramatically in recent years in response to increased online consumer spending. According to Forrester Research, this is expected to reach $32 billion by 2012.
The event will present a total of 11 awards and include categories such as, Best PurePlay Online Retailer, Best Multichannel Retailer and Best New Online Retailer. The ORIAs ‘Palme D’Or’, the Online Retailer of the Year (the program’s highest accolade), will be awarded to e-retail’s highest achiever and will be determined on a nominee’s performance in one or more of the previous 10 categories.
Entries and nominations are open to all members of the Australian and New Zealand online retail industry until 30 April 2010
