Many people become entrepreneurs in an effort to elevate themselves from the world they currently inhabit. But few imagine that entrepreneurial success will provide them with the opportunity to leave the earth’s atmosphere.
Ruslan Kogan, Australian entrepreneur and 27-year-old founder and CEO of Kogan Technologies, along with other members of the world’s first team of Virgin Galactic space tourists, yesterday joined Sir Richard Branson in the Mojave Desert for the unveiling of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo.
Kogan and approximately 300 others have paid a deposit to guarantee a seat on a Virgin Galactic space flight, which Branson hopes will begin test flights in the next 12 months and commercial flights between 2011 and 2012. A seat will cost US$200,000.
