The global economic crisis might have ravaged the once mighty Japanese auto industry, but it’s good to see that Honda continues to flex its R&D muscle in atypical areas.
On Tuesday, Honda introduced a New York City audience to its ground-breaking robo walking assist devices. As the Wired Science blog noted, the devices, which “combine sensor-driven motors and weight-baring chassis to guide strides and support body weight”, could be servicing a massive market in the very near future, with the Baby Boomers edging towards old age and physical atrophy.
