What is 30under30?
30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. This year saw a surplus of highly qualified entrants, so we thought we would highlight some of the bright and innovative nominees who just missed the Top 30 by a wink. What’s more auspicious, and fitting, for a budgeting specialist site than being named Shoe String Startup of the Month?
Kixup, says Andrew Frahm, is equipped with tools for beating debt and building savings.
“Kixup is all about where your money is going and what the months ahead have in store for you financially,” he explains.
“I got into this business because there is a serious need for people to be better financially educated.”
After being ditched by his web developer, Kixup almost got derailed, but Frahm held true to his shoestring reputation and found enough funds to pull through.
Although the startup is still finalising development after a soft launch in June, Frahm is currently sealing a joint venture partnership to turn up the buzz on the Kixup brand — which could turn budgeting into serious business.

I tend to view things differently than most people I know. When they just see a problem, I am thinking of solutions and what opportunities exist.
