1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

The GO1 team were independently asked by a number of clients to build custom learning solutions. As we were building the systems we realised that there was a clear gap in the market and that a beautifully designed LMS could make learning enjoyable for all students.

The creation of Aduro has encouraged us to shift the focus of GO1 from a traditional web agency to a product-focused organisation. Aduro now sits as one of a suite of products we have created – it all started with Aduro and we haven’t looked back.

We launched Aduro LMS in 2012.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Facilitate learning anywhere at any time on any device, keeping users up-to-date and engaged wherever they are. Learning with Aduro is an enjoyable experience for both teachers and students. You shouldn’t need to learn how to learn.

It does this by…

Considering what defines a successful learning experience and building features to encourage success at every point in the learning journey. Designed to delight, Aduro is beautiful, intuitive and responsive for enjoyable use across all devices (Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad and Android).

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Aduro removes the frustration students often have when they have to learn new software.

Aduro’s intuitive design ensures our customers – teachers – can be confident students will understand the learning environment, reducing the time it takes to begin learning.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

  • Access via Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad and Android without compromise
  • Document annotation and collaboration features – you can open and mark up a PowerPoint file on an iPhone as easily as a PC.
  • Quick courses through to full degree programmes

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

LMSs that were built to be technically correct but not enjoyable to use. A poorly-designed LMS creates frustration – figuring out how the system rather than completing a course. You shouldn’t have to learn how to learn!

Bad systems resulted in users avoiding them meaning our web clients kept asking us to build new solutions purely to avoid the alternatives.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Blackboard, Moodle, Coursera, Desire2Learn, Udacity, EdX

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

Teachers in any environment who want to ensure their students are actively learning.

Our customer base currently sits quite broadly across large corporates, government and not-for-profits and RTOS.  By end-2014 we will have an out-of-the-box version of Aduro which will suit SME’s and individual trainers.

Aduro is working with EducarUno in Mexico to help provide training for their Diseña el Cambio, or Design for Change, program. Design for Change is the world’s largest school challenge, providing children with the opportunity to implement projects of positive change in their communities and share their projects with the rest of the world.

It is available for sale through…

Our primary distribution channel is our website, www.adurolms.com.

We also have a white-label version which is being used by a number of organisations to re-sell to their customers.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Recently being named New LMS of the Year 2013 / 2014 has opened up conversations on a global scale and we now have over 3,000 users in Mexico using Aduro in Spanish.

This has generated strong PR opportunities globally and we are sharing our eLearning success tips with our community of teachers and students through Aduro Insights (newsletter and blog).
