Is there such a thing as charity fatigue?

Possibly. If there is, it could be described as that sense of hopelessness that you feel when you realise that things need to change, and there’s not much you can do about it.

Well, there is something you can do about it. You can do one of two things. You can quit your job and behave like Russell Dalrymple on Seinfeld. You remember Russell. He was the President of NBC but joined Greenpeace to impress Elaine.

Or, you can do something else.

This brilliant ad from the Rainforest Alliance showcases both option.

It’s a showcase piece of positive advertising with an active message that everyone can respond to. This works far better than the scare tactic campaigns that are so often used by non profit organisations.

So, rather than finding yourself in a remote Nicaraguan hospital missing three toes on your left foot and sobbing to Siri, “I want to go home’, watch this ad.
